about
A while ago, I found a high school notebook full of unfinished homework, doodles, and lyrics. I took the first bit from a page in that notebook and completed it with the perspective of my older self, so please prepare for an acoustic guitar driven nostalgia anthem! Trivia Fact: this song was written for A Reward For The Bare Minimum, but we ran out of time to track it. We're happy we waited til we could do it justice and hope you enjoy! <3
lyrics
You were holding my hand oh so tight
I felt bad cause my fingers were slipping
Wanted to hold you through the night
But that’s something that I’m not admitting
We may not make it make it
Here’s my heart don’t break it, shake it
I’ll catch up and we’ll get by
Oh, I’ll catch up and we’ll get by
I want to love you like we’re still sixteen
Before the real world came creeping in
I want a curfew know when to go home
Feel the summer on my pinkened skin
We will drive around with no destination
So we can finish screaming our favorite songs
Awake in separate beds til 3 in the morning
Cause we’re so excited that we’re so damn loved
Would I like me if I sat myself down and asked me what I’m up to?
Would I like you if I sat you down and asked you what you’re doing with me?
Would I ask me why I do all the things that I do?
Would I even have an answer?
Am I happy?
Sometimes
You met your idol
And she didn’t want to talk to you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I want to love you
I WANT TO LOVE YOU
